"Life" (命, Inochi), originally released as "Special Chapter: Life" (特別編 「命」, Tokubetsu Hen "Inochi"), is the first chapter of the Vampire Knight manga sequel series Vampire Knight: Memories.

The chapter was originally published in LaLa Fantasy magazine as a post-series one-shot titled "Special Chapter: Life". The chapter was later released for digital download.
As Matsuri Hino continued releasing one-shots, they were eventually bundled into Vampire Knight: Memories volume 1, which was later serialized in LaLa DX. "Life" retroactively became the first chapter of the new series.
Viz Media first released the chapter, titled "Vampire Knight: Life", as a one-shot for digital download on December 9th, 2014.[1][2][3] In the English volume of Vampire Knight: Memories, it's title is simply "Life", as it is in the Japanese version.
Summary[]
After Kaname's sacrifice, Sayori Wakaba reflects on meeting Yuki Cross at Cross Academy and what she saw between Yuki, Kaname Kuran, and Zero Kiryu. It follows the occurrences that happened after the final battle at Cross Academy and how everyone lived their lives from then on.
