"Ai and Her First Love" is the eighth chapter of the Vampire Knight manga sequel series Vampire Knight: Memories.
The chapter title refers to Ai Kuran's first crush, which is for Zero Kiryu.
Summary[]
While Yuki is still pregnant, she and Zero stand before Kaname and talk. It transitions to Yuki and Ai in the bath together, with Yuki finishing the story about her past with Zero and Kaname.
One morning, Hanabusa is upset that he wasn't woken up for the conference. He meets up with Zero, Ai, and Sayori Wakaba. Sayori starts to prepare him something to eat but Hanabusa tells her to rely on the housekeeper. Ai asks Sayori about how she felt about Hanabusa before they got married, such as when Hanabusa patted her head or embraced her. Sayori asks what this is about, but Ai doesn't answer, and when Zero tells Ai it's time to go she blushes and runs off. Ai realized her feelings. That night, Ai asks Yuki if she's lonely, but Yuki isn't sure what she means.
The next day, Ai calls Zero out to meet her. She removes a cloak to reveal her soiree dress and tells him that she wants to be his wife. Zero tells her that if he ever takes a wife, it will be Yuki. He apologizes, but Ai says she knows. She curtsies to him and asks him to dance. He agrees, and they dance to a music box.
Ai then decides that she wants Yuki and Zero to marry. She later locks them in a room together. The two bemusedly wonder if they should break the door or wait for her to open it.
